Tori Dillinger, Administrative Assistant
When looking to purchase your first home, things may seem overwhelming. You probably have a lot of questions. What credit score do I need? How much should I have set aside in savings? What interest rate is reasonable on my mortgage? How much can I afford per month on mortgage payments?
HOPE of Evansville can help you cut through all the uncertainty. Whether you are ready to buy a house now or need some help getting to that point, our HUD-certified housing counselor can help. We offer financial education, a pre-purchase education course, and one-on-one financial counseling service. Households not exceeding the income guidelines listed below may also qualify for additional support through our down payment assistance program.
HOPE also has access to Individual Development Account (IDA) to allow up to $4,000 in down payment assistance.
Stop by our office at 612 SE 4th Street in Evansville to pick up an application for our home purchase assistance programs. Based on your financial background, our housing counselor, Tony Ajibade, will help you determine which next steps are most appropriate for you.
